Cape Gooseberry - Golden Nugget

Originating in South America, Cape Gooseberries also known as Physalis are delicious sweet round golden balls with a hint of tartness. They grow encased in an outer papery husk that dries out when the fruit is ready for harvest. Great to snack on fresh in the garden or save a few up to turn into a jam. Can self seed relatively easily, so be sure to pick up any dropped fruit.
